  • Meeting with an on-site case manager on a monthly basis for the first six months and quarterly thereafter
  • Establishing an Individual Training Service Plan that includes a five-year goal plan and is reviewed annually
  • Attending four (4) Parenting and four (4) Life Skill classes annually
  • Volunteering twenty-four (24) hours annually to Pinellas Village

Pinellas Village is much more than a place to live. It’s a community of single parents with one common goal…to achieve self-sufficiency, success, and empower their children to carry on the tradition of self-reliance and autonomy.

The staff at Pinellas Village provides support, information, and referrals to our families in order to achieve their goals. Within this effort, we assist in the development of a family unit through special events and activities.

The Family Services staff schedules Parenting and Life Skills classes which are held in the Community Room. Pinellas Village pays R’Club staff to provide child care for these classes so that parents are free to attend. Money Management classes are taught on a regular basis to teach residents how to budget and save money and repair damaged credit. Pinellas Opportunity Council www.poc-inc.org maintains offices in our Community Room and provides financial and family development assistance. Our collaborative agreement with Marriage and Family Center allows our residents counseling services either on-site or off-site. In addition, we provide on-site domestic violence support groups. Our resources are unlimited in the community, and our case managers ensure that our residents have access to other valuable agencies.

It’s not all work and no play at Pinellas Village. We also provide plenty of fun activities for our parents and children! Our elected Resident Council holds monthly Town Hall meetings to discuss property issues and plan upcoming events. The two biggest events of the year are the Back to School Party and Fall Harvest Party. In addition, smaller events such as movie nights and craft days are enjoyed by our children. Thanks to the outpouring of generosity in the community, all of our families are adopted during the December holidays. This takes the financial burden from you during this “buying” season!

Pinellas Village provides the tools to success…it’s the responsibility of the parents to utilize these tools to attain their dreams!
